Amazing Miracle Stories
by Reverend Edie Weinstein-Moser

The word "miracle" is derived from the latin verb mirare - to wonder or marvel. By this definition, a miracle can be any person, place, thing or event that provokes wonder or awe. From a simple starfish to a cure for cancer, it is something marvelous that happens that causes us to wonder and take note of the gifts of life, the enchantment of living, and the possibilities of our immortal spiritual survival. Miracles may ultimately be nature's spiritual nudge reminding us to remain amazed and enraptured by what she has done and can do.

- Paul Pearsall, PhD

When I open my eyes each morning, one of my first thoughts is "How amazing is it that I can see and feel and hear?" I express gratitude for my senses, fully alive to the day. I request that I be guided to crossing paths with exactly the right people and circumstances to serve the highest good and I ask to be aware of the miracles that are ever-present. Not too tall an order for Spirit, which really is each one of us.

A Course in Miracles defines the word as "a shift in perception". Seeing circumstances in a different light allows us to drink in the fullness of the experience. As a result, we can enjoy each one as a unique creation. It may not always be elaborate, visually spectacular or accompanied by choruses of angels, although that would be lovely too.

Over the years, I have become acutely aware of the seemingly mundane occurrences that would fit into that category. They range from witnessing a rainbow when it hasn't been raining, to hearing a particular song on the radio when my heart called our for it to be played. Often I shake my head in bewildered awe at the everyday miracles that take place when I sit in communion with family and friends.

Each of us has a multitude of miracle stories within us and in both the presentation on Tuesday, June 14th and the workshop on Thursday, June 23rd, we will join together to be inspired by each others' stories that we are creating on a moment to moment basis.

Remember - You Are the Miracle!
